BID Services is a charity. We work in partnership with people with a sensory impairment, as well as those with learning or physical disabilities or mental health issues. Our mission is to provide high quality services and opportunities that make it possible for people to have choice and control over their lives. Our specialist service areas include Advocacy, Employment, British Sign Language Interpreting and Training, Specialist Equipment, Residential Placements, Social Work, Support for Tinnitus, Youth Sports and Housing Related Services. We deliver services across the UK.

The Interpreting Service was set up in 1994 and we are working with Doncaster Council to provide communication support for deaf and deafblind residents in Doncaster.

Doncaster’s Communication Support service is funded by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council and Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and delivered by BID Services via its Interpreting team. The service will deliver communication support for those who need to access mainstream services within the Council, the NHS and community services.

Interpreting support will be delivered by qualified and professional interpreters covering all communication requirements including British Sign Language, Sign Supported English, Lipspeaking, Deafblind interpreting, Speech to Text reporting, Manual & Electronic note taking, deaf relay interpreting and online interpreting via a webcam.
